Nick got beat up at therapy today. He pushed around a heavy table, against resistance. He was immediately jello-y and sore. He did some other new stuff too, that I didn’t get to take pictures or video of. I was too busy restoring Nicks phone after I deleted the whole thing last night. I haven’t seen him that bummed in a while. It sounds silly but it was devastating. He thought he lost 15 years of phone numbers, but thankfully I got most all of it back.
Carlsbad is awesome. The beach is peaceful. Our hotel room is incredible. And our company is super fun. I’m glad Seth came down with us for some quality time. Tomorrow he is taking Nick to Project Walk to see the magic happen. I’m sad to be missing it, but happy to spend some alone time at the beach.
By the way, I gave up about the wheelie bars on his wheelchair. They’re off. And every time he hops a curb I have a mini heart attack, but he insists he’s better off without them. I’m choosing my battles, and this is no longer one of them.
He also took a spill in the sand today. Everything started off wrong. Wrong tools, wrong approach, wrong expectations, wrong hand placement. So, he went down. We’ve watched the video now at least 40 times. Each time more hilarious than the last! Sorry Nick, I’m sharing this video because our people must know what a good time we’re having at the beach. We’re laughing at you, not with you!
