Nick loved his hypnotherapy session this afternoon! I knew it! Now, I don’t know how much it helped to stop his phantom pain, yet, but he felt deep peace and relaxation from it. And she reminded him of, and instilled in him, the knowledge that he is in charge of his own healing. That he decides how quickly, or how slowly, he will heal. It’s up to him how well all these external healing modalities will work (medications, surgeries, acupuncture, massage, ointments, etc)
I love this concept! Yes, of course we need to be doing everything physically possible to facilitate healing, but above all that, his mind is truly in charge here. His mind is the master computer. His hypnosis appointment helped to align his mental powers with what his body is experiencing. He really liked his therapist too. She has a wonderfully soothing voice, and is very in-tune to emotional and physical healing. She also gave him a ‘phantom pain relief’ self meditation CD to listen to everyday for the next thirty days. In fact, it’s playing right now as we’re falling asleep. Guess my own phantom pain should be subsiding soon!
