Going to the dropzone today was the best, most therapeutic thing we could have done. It was unplanned and unannounced. Totally random. I was nervous as we pulled into the parking lot. Despite being generally outgoing, I’m often socially awkward. Skydive Perris is my home, but I still had butterflies as we walked up. It only took one loving bear hug from Steve to initiate tears of joy and the release of any apprehension. Everyone was so happy to see us. So happy to see Fener. Nick was all smiles, jokes and stories. Talk about reestablishing a sense of normalcy!! Seeing our friends land their parachutes was so peacefully intense. We went out to the grass landing area and stood on the spot where Nick landed after his canopy collapsed.
