Ahh I love this picture. That’s our family. Look at how tiny MIA is!!  And how big Big Dog is!  It’s definitely tough, sitting here, day after day, missing our three kids. But I’ve already mentioned this. Yeah, I just mentioned this earlier today actually.

But the truth is, I posted this particular picture for a completely different reason.  I wanted to acknowledge a very special girlfriend of mine who has been my rock during this traumatic time in my life.  Her name is Amanda Burgess, and she took this picture. She took a whole series of family photos for us. She’s been a very special friend to me and Nick for a few years now. We’ve vacationed together, skydived together (I was her instructor!!), spent many many hours talking about any and everything under the sun.  She’s incredibly talented, intelligent, nurturing (which I’m discovering first hand), insightful, and caring.

Thank you Amanda for the love and support you’ve shown to me and Nick… now and in years past.
